I have recently distributed notice of the article to parents and others in NYC on my email list. It has elicited extraordinary response. The article’s main message resonates with parents of children currently attending NYC public schools.
Nowehere is the anti-intellectualism in public schools more blatantly evident than in the current National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards based mathematics reform.
